About t2 hjól
I'm Hans Pétur Jónsson. I run t2 hjól ehf., the official TENWAYS sales and service partner in Iceland, from a workshop on Vesturás 36 in Reykjavík.
How it started
In 2021 I saw the original TENWAYS CGO600 on Kickstarter and recognised it immediately — the lightweight, low-profile e-bike I'd been looking for to commute on. TENWAYS didn't ship to Iceland, but I convinced them to deliver to Rotterdam if I'd handle the rest.
When I checked the freight cost, shipping ten bikes cost only 30% more than shipping one. So I bought ten, with the plan of finding nine like-minded people who'd want one too.
The bikes landed in early 2022 — and I became TENWAYS's first reseller anywhere in the world in the process. Since then I've imported around 350 bikes for Icelandic riders, and now I don't commute anymore. The work is in the garage at home.
What you get from buying through t2
- A test ride before you decide. The showroom is open by appointment — sit on the range and take one out around the neighbourhood. Booking takes a minute.
- Help with the Orkusjóður subsidy. Cargo bikes qualify for up to 200,000 ISK off. The paperwork isn't hard, but I'll walk you through it.
- In-house workshop. Service is by appointment, TENWAYS only — that lets me do it well instead of spreading thin.
- A real phone number. 896-8076. You'll get me or someone who can find me. No call centre.
